Mr Elias Lardas is a founding Partner of our Law Firm. He practices law since 1995, and focuses on litigation regarding industrial & intellectual property law, along with corporate and civil law. His practice also includes administrative law litigation, criminal litigation (mostly white collar crimes) and arbitration – both national and international. He also serves as general counsel for corporations in numerous industries.
In particular, he covers the full array of intellectual/industrial property law – both contentious and non-contentious -, including patents, copyrights, trade secrets, unfair competition and trademarks. He has successfully represented in courts as well as in dispute resolution organisations clients across numerous industries, such as telecommunications, information technology, consumer products, media and entertainment, manufacturing and construction. He has prosecuted and litigated complex IP matters, assisting clients in protecting their intellectual property rights from infringement, counterfeiting, misappropriation and unfair competition.
Elias also serves as strategic advisor to clients in order to resolve issues and achieve their aims without the need to resort to litigation. For instance, he helps companies evaluate and manage intellectual property risks; provides strategic advice on intellectual property protection and enforcement programs; works with clients in the restructuring of intellectual property assets; and helps guide companies through branding and licensing strategies.
With regard to his commercial/corporate practice, he has significant experience in structuring, drafting and negotiating transactions that include licenses; strategic collaborations and corporate partnerships; joint ventures; research and development agreements; manufacturing agreements; supply and distribution agreements; promotion agreements; outsourcing; consulting and services agreements. He advises on a wide variety of commercial agreements – for example, agency and distribution, outsourcing, facilities management, franchising, advertising, sponsorship, marketing, standard terms of business – and all aspects of trading law, including unfair contract terms, consumer law, product liability and trading standards.
Elias’ dispute resolution experience spans to various aspects of law. His work is divided between advice for and defence of private companies and individuals on policy development and enforcement strategy. He is skilled in all forms of dispute resolution, including (civil and commercial) litigation; arbitration; ADR; corporate governance advice and investigations. He handles litigation and arbitration involving a wide variety of issues, such as M&A, product liability, insurance, bankruptcy, white-collar crime, executive compensation, intellectual property, as well as administrative law and general commercial disputes. He has wide ranging experience and expertise across key industry sectors and has represented, inter alia, financial service companies, insurance companies, retailers, manufacturers, construction companies, telecoms operators, TV and radio operators, media companies. He is also particularly strong in product & services liability litigation, having handled successfully a wide variety of cases.
Prior to founding our Firm, Elias was running his own boutique law firm, working as senior legal counsel to clients from various industries such as media and entertainment, IT, construction, telecommunications, e-commerce, computer hardware and software, consumer products, pharmaceuticals, manufacturing, food and beverage.
